Introduction
With more than 197 branches in four countries, the Elkjop Group is Scandinavia’s leading provider of electronic goods and is part of the DSGi Group. Throughout Northern Europe, customers shopping for telecommunications and computer products or photography equipment can find what they want at Elkjop.

Project brief
DSGi approached M Worldwide to develop concept ideas for their film, music and gaming department as part of a new store concept for their Elkjop brand in Lorenskog, Oslo, Norway.

The brief was to develop a distinguishable entertainment zone to create in-store standout. Furthermore, M Worldwide was required to enhance the customer experience, embodying interactivity, entertainment and excitement.

Our Approach
With the speed of change in the entertainment sector it was important to create an interchangeable system allowing store staff to keep up to date with the latest trends easily. The concept consisted of a frame system, allowing for all graphical elements to be changed as and when required.

M Worldwide also created promotional platforms for the latest technologies, interactive screens for customer involvement and information stations to allow customers to find out more and ‘try before they buy’.

Results
The new store opened in May 2008 and the concept has been well received by consumers. Elkjop are continuing their refurbishment programme and have seen market share grow in all four markets.
